Casey’s Adult Style Pigs in a Blanket – Recipe Corner

I hope everyone is getting ready for the big game!! Just thought I would share with you my recipe for a grown folk style of “pigs in a blanket”!

Ya know, incase all the frozen mini ones are sold out 😉

Casey’s Adult Style Pigs in a Blanket –
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 pack of kielbasa
2 tablespoons of butter
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

1. Unwrap your puff pastry and use the truth fold as a guide to slice into 3. On parchment, roll on slice until it is almost doubled in size. You want it to reach around the kielbasa.
2. Cut your kielbasa in half, or thirds if it is too large to fit length wise in the puff pastry. Lay a piece over the dough and roll it to completely cover, use a little water on your finger to seal the edge. Wrap in the parchment and put in the freezer for at least 1 hour or until firm to touch. (This is to harden the puff pastry dough and allow it to stick to the kielbasa) Repeat with remaining kielbasa/dough.
3. Remove from the freezer and slice into even rounds. Place on prepared baking sheet, using a pastry brush.. Put the melted butter over each piece and pop into the oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper fresh out of the oven!

Serve warm with dipping sauce.

I like mustard, but ketchup or a horseradish aioli would be lovely as well!
