Casey’s Fabulous French Toast – Recipe Corner

It’s Sunday morning and you want a nice breakfast.. What better way to start the day, right?

However, you have had eggs all week! You made pancakes yesterday.. What to do?

French Toast it!!

Not only is French toast simple, but it is delicious..

Casey’s Fabulous French Toast –

8 slices of bread

4 eggs

2/3 cup of whole milk

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of vanilla

sprinkle of nutmeg

2 tablespoons of butter

  1. In a bowl whisk together your eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Make sure you whisk until smooth. Any clumps of eggs will result in your french toast looking more like scrambled eggs on toast!
  2. I like to use what I call “the ABC technique” to dip the bread. Once your mixture is read, dip your bread on piece at a time. When you put the bread in begin the ABCs.. Once you get to G turn it over to soak the other side.. When you get P flip again.. And again at V, once more at Z and then carefully lift it and let it drain off it’s side as you sing “Now I know my ABCs, next time won’t you sing with me!” It’s silly.. but it works! Just the right time to soak and drain the bread.. Plus if you have kids its fun for them too!
  3. Heat your pan to medium heat. Melt a bit of butter and add in your dipped bread. Continue to do the ABCs and add into the pan one by one (or however many can fit in your pan in a single layer)
  4. Cook on each side until browned, about 5 minutes on each side.

Serve immediately with Butter, syrup, powdered  sugar, fruit, whipped cream or any toppings you desire!!

I love them with just some butter and syrup! Delicious..

Enjoy šŸ™‚
