Casey’s Festive Brownies – Recipe Corner

Christmas is a week away! Can you believe it?? I certainly can not.

This year flew by..

Are you going to someones house this year for Christmas?
How about you make these delicious brownies to bring as a gift for dessert..

What if you are hosting..?
These are quick and easy to make and will leave your guests thinking you spent hours in the kitchen baking..

Or maybe you just want some candy cane brownies for yourself, I ain’t mad atcha! πŸ˜‰

Casey’s Festive Brownies –

2 sticks of salted butter

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of flour

4 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla

2 candy canes

powdered sugar, mini candy canes for garnish (optional)

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease and 9×13 baking dish (I use pyrex).

  1. In a small sauce pan, melt butter. Once the butter has liquified, remove from heat and stir in the sugar. It won’t melt all the way, but stir until fully incorporated.
  2. In a large bowl, add in flour, cocoa, vanilla, and eggs. Pour in sugar mixture and whisk all until smooth.
  3. In a chopper or food processor, pulse the candy canes until they are almost a dust.. Small chunks are ok! It should be about 1/4 cup worth. Add into batter and mix.
  4. Pour into your prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes.

Once cooled, I like to sift some powdered sugar over the tops! Cut into slices, and garnish each one with a mini candy cane. You can also garnish with a candy cane hershey kiss.. or even white icing and some crushed candy cane! All delicious, beautiful and festive!


By the way… This general recipe is my brownie recipe that I always use, just adding the crushed candy cane. Normally I would do everything as stated above just not add in the dusted candy cane and boom, amazing brownies! Sometimes I even add in a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the batter.. or some crushed walnuts.. or mini marshmallows.. hmm, but thats another blog πŸ˜‰
