Casey’s Simply Delicious Asparagus – Recipe Corner

It can’t all be crazy recipes right?! Sometimes you just want a simple side. Something healthy and plain to go along with a heavy dinner, maybe?

Asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables.. You can grill it, broil it, bake it, anyway is great..

Today I am going to boil it! I know what you’re saying.. “But Casey, you’ll boil out most of the nutrients!” Just watch happens after, stay tuned..


Casey’s Simply Delicious Asparagus – 

1 bunch of asparagus

water to boil

1 tablespoon of melted butter (optional)

1. Fill a pan with water, enough to cover the top of the asparagus. place asparagus into the water and turn on high. Once it come to a boil, set timer for 10 minutes.

2. Using tongs, remove asparagus from the water and place on to a plate. Drizzle with butter.

Now for the nutrients in the water…. Notice I said to remove them with a tong! Whenever I make broccoli or asparagus, I like to reserve the water and use it for a smoothie or if I am cooking a dish which needs a pan sauce, or even to start a soup! Why waste all that deliciously vegetable flavored water!? 😉

It is THAT easy to make  a healthy side dish for your meal! Make a couple of bunches and use it with grilled chicken for meal prep!
