Casey’s Tasty Taco Sliders – Recipe Corner

What is better than tacos?! I mean really.. They are just delicious! Another awesome food.. Burgers! So why not marry them together in a blissful union of happiness for your taste buds!?

This recipe is very straight forward and you can customize it as you wish! Which is another reason it’s so great for a party.. Here is the game plan πŸ˜‰

Tasty Taco Sliders

1 lb ground beef (or ground chicken, ground turkey)

1 1oz packet of taco seasoning

2 tablespoons of minced red onion

1 avocado

1 lime

2 plum tomatoes, sliced

1/2 cup of lettuce, shredded (or 8 lettuce leaves for “buns”)

8 teaspoons of salsa (whatever is your favorite!)

sour cream

8 slider buns (if you’re not into the lettuce bun idea)

1. Combine ground meat, taco seasoning, and minced onion in a bowl. Mix together, only briefly as you do not want to stiffen the meat. Section into 8 even amounts and make your patties (helpful hint : spray a bit of cooking spray on your hands to help keep the meat from sticking to you!) Remember, the burgers will shrink slightly so make your burgers a bit bigger than your buns! In a hot grill pan or saute pan, cook burgers to your preference of doneness.. (I did medium well, 5 minutes on each side)

2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mash-up avocado and lime juice to create your guacamole.

3. Paint the top and bottom of your buns with a light coat of sour cream, then begin to build your burger. (as pictured above)

Anyway you put them together.. these sliders are a touchdown!! Pun intended πŸ˜‰

You can either make all these burgers and set them out on a fun platter for your guests.. OR you can disregard the amounts in the recipe for the “fixin’s” and just put out a taco style dinner platter with the burgers, lettuce, tomatoes and sauces; put out lettuce wraps and buns and just let people go for it on their own! It’s a Taco Slider Bar! How fun does that sound!?! Enjoy..
