Catering a Private Event for Cents Ability, Hosted by Watson International!


On Wednesday, April 27th I had the pleasure of catering a fundraiser event called “A Night of Fashion and Finance” Hosted by Associate Real Estate Broker & Senior Global Advisor Antonia Watson of Watson International for Cents Ability.

13062552_741786215936607_2366347085411202944_nCents Ability is a Manhattan based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering today’s youth so that they may achieve their goals through the prudent and informed management of their finances from a young age.


The event was held in a beautiful venue in Manhattan named Bene Rialto.. A gorgeous 5 story townhouse which showcases many different fashion designers and also doubles as a private event space! The weeks leading up to the event Antonia and I met and we finalized a menu of hors d’oeuvres to be passed to the upwards of 200 guests which were in attendance. We had 5 servers (hard working volunteers from Notorious Mixed Martial Arts, a gym specializing in Jiu Jitsu owned and run by the Black Belt Sensei Fiona Watson) winding through two floors of guests as they admired the beautiful fashion that was for sale. Not only did 100% of the ticket price go to Cents Ability, but also 10% of anything purchased throughout the night as well.. That was an amazing aspect that really helped tie the night of Fashion and Finance together!


We also had a silent auction.. everything from one on one training session with Sensei Fiona Watson to a hair salon makeover.. Gift certificates, jewelry, and even a private cooking class with yours truly were auctioned off to raise even more money for the cause! So many generous donations were also collected throughout the night!


A good friend of mine, Kristin, helped me in the kitchen that night as my assistant.. I spent a majority of that day prepping and we still had to put each of the five dishes together by hand before they were sent down on the platters. It was a 3 hour event, and we served food for every minute of it! 


Here is what was on the menu!



Solo Crudités-

Personal sized cups filled with either hummus or ranch and topped with your favorite crudités: carrots, celery, cucumber and red pepper.


Watermelon and Feta Shooters-

Mini shooters of fresh watermelon, feta, a sprig of mint and a drizzle of honey.



Prosciutto Goat Cheese Crostini with Kiwi-

A little bite of heaven with fresh sliced prosciutto, goat cheese, a slice of kiwi, and a drizzle of white balsamic reduction.



Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese-

Peppered crackers topped with whipped cream cheese and Smoked Nova Salmon garnished with chive.

Caprese Bites-

All of the flavor of a fresh caprese salad in one bite. Fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato topped with an aged balsamic reduction.

It was an amazing night with amazing people for an amazing cause! I am so honored to have been a part of this event..
